Why Used Cooking Oil?

Used Cooking Oil (UCO) is fats and oils that have been used for cooking or
frying in the food processing industry, restaurants, fast foods and at a
consumer level, in households.

Typically, UCO is found as:
  • Sunflower oil
  • Corn oil
  • Canola oil
  • Olive oil
  • Palm oil, etc.
Without proper management, these oils become hazardous waste. However, when properly collected and treated, they are the most sustainable feedstock for biodiesel—a renewable fuel that significantly reduces carbon footprints compared to fossil diesel.
